She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Mc Coy Lamb and one sister, Ruth Bennett Waynick. Lamm was born in Beaufort County on November 23, 1928. Thomp Litchfield, Sr., became owner and operator of the business where he remained until he decided to retire in the early 1970s. Lane had a great love for his family, life and people.

She was the daughter of Charles Fredrick Branton and Minnie Woolard Branton. On July 5, 1947, she married Sam Boushall Lackland who preceded her in death on January 17, 2002. Lackland was a homemaker and worked for several years in admissions at Beaufort County Hospital. Lahocki, Father Stephen Lahocki, and three brothers, Joe Lahocki, Charles Lahocki and George Lahocki.
She devoted her life to being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Ketchum and Mary Broglin, both of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren..
