He’s not stacking the deck in his favor, because he doesn’t need to.He talks to truckers in a roadside chapel, he chats with random, middle-class tourists at a Christian-themed amusement park., Bill Maher throws up a bar chart illustrating the number of people in America who are non-religious.

It’s not propaganda, because Maher isn’t running out and finding weirdos to use in smear tactics against the devout.

Typically anyone trying to make a case against God goes right to the pedophile priests and the suicide bombers, but Maher makes it a point to focus on normal, reasonably sane religious people.

We follow him around the world, as he travels from place to place talking to religious people of different faiths on different continents.

The surprising thing here is that even though Maher definitely has an agenda, his movie never skews into the realm of propaganda.

On October 11, 1954, Pope Pius XII released the encyclical declaring the Mary the Queen of Heaven and instituting the liturgical Feast of the Queenship of Mary. John Damascene that “When she became Mother of the Creator, she truly became Queen of every creature.” Pope Paul VI later moved the feast day to the octave of the Assumption in order to emphasize the close bond between the glorification of her body and soul and her Queenship in Heaven next to her son, Jesus Christ.

makes this explicit saying, “Mary was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen of the universe, that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son.” (LG, 59) Thus, from August 15th to August 22nd we celebrate the Assumption of Mary into Heaven and her being crowned Queen of Heaven.

) So, there was darkness at the Crucifixion and there will be darkness at the Second Coming of Christ. Perhaps in the spiritual sense, that God does occasionally give us signs through nature.

And yes, there will be a brief darkness over the United States during the total solar eclipse on August 21st. Perhaps God is trying to get our attention, and is calling us to repentance. This was not long after the last apparition of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal in 1917, and in the midst of the tragedy of World War I.

In fact, he supposedly witnessed it four times, in the year 1950 when he was going to proclaim the dogma of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven.
